Make It

Count

The easiest way to help a charity is to give money. But there are many other ways to make a difference:

Volunteer

The greatest asset of a non profit organization is its supporters. And it doesn’t matter if you can only volunteer from time to time or if you can work a set number of hours every week…you are needed!

But how do you find a non profit that you want to volunteer for?

To begin, visit your local Chamber of Commerce. They typically are well connected in the community and can help you find an organization that needs assistance.

Another excellent source for volunteer opportunities is Network For Good. The site lists ongoing volunteer projects, as well as, projects with specific time frames for completion.

And finally, network! More than likely, you have friends, family members, and co-workers who donate a portion of their time to a charity that matters to them. Help them support their cause.

And remember, volunteering takes no money to do. So if your budget doesn’t allow you to give financially, you can still make a difference by giving your time.

Ask Your Employer to Support Charitable Giving

While your employer may, or may not, be able to actively donate to charities, the employees can make a huge difference.

As stated in Liberty Savings Bank’s mission, we take pride in our community and support numerous causes. But our employees truly make an impact. Every year, through numerous events, Liberty employees contribute thousands of dollars to charities that matter to them. Events that we sponsor include:

  • Jeans Day for $1
  • Chili Cook Off and Dessert Contests
  • Gift Basket Contest and Raffle Ticket Sales
  • Team participation in numerous walks
  • Charity Car Show
  • Charity Flea Market
  • Second Hand Book Sales
  • Adopt-A-Senior for the Holidays
  • Adopt-A-Child for the Holidays
  • And many more events
